Ira Kane is one of the main characters of the franchise who appears in both Film and the animated series, Alienators: Evolution Continues.

He is a biologist and chemist who is fascinated by scientific discoveries and breakthroughs. His knowledge in science along with his excitement and passion to the idea of quite evolution leads his team to eliminating the Genus.

We first meet him in the film series where he is working as a College professor who, along with his colleague and friend Harry Block, investigate the genus, taking a sample of strange blue liquid that oozes from it.Ira discovers that it harbors extraterrestrial single-celled nitrogen-based organisms multiplying exponentially, condensing millions of years of evolution within minutes.

The next day, they take the science class to survey the meteor site and find it already surrounded by evolved oxygen-converting fungi and alien flatworms, later discovering the cells and organisms reproduce rapidly through mitosis.

The animated series, Alienators: Evolution Continues (Evolution: the Animated Series in the UK), starts a couple of months after the events of the 2001 comedy sci-fi, film and opens with Ira and Harry watching a news report on final scene of the film.

Alienators suit(yellow): a suit designed to combat the Genus, it has an air filter and oxygen tank.
